Instead of a screenshot app
Capture regions, windows, and long scrolling pages, then annotate, blur, redact, and dress them up - the whole screenshot workflow, plus cinematic screen recording.
Foldout is a downloadable macOS app for local file, document, media, capture, and developer workflows. Tool processing happens on your Mac, and Foldout does not track what you do in the app.
Start the 14-day trial in the app. No payment method is required to try Foldout.
Search by task or filter by category. Common file, PDF, image, capture, and developer workflows appear first, with the full Foldout catalog below.
Most of these jobs live in separate apps, each with its own window to hunt down and its own recurring bill. Foldout folds them into one searchable toolbox that runs on your Mac.
Capture regions, windows, and long scrolling pages, then annotate, blur, redact, and dress them up - the whole screenshot workflow, plus cinematic screen recording.
Merge, split, compress, rotate, redact, number, fill, and sign PDFs - the everyday document chores you reach for a heavyweight suite to handle, in tools that open the instant you need them.
Convert and resize images, video, and audio between the formats people actually use - in batches, with your originals left untouched and nothing uploaded anywhere.
Format JSON, test regex, decode JWTs, convert timestamps and bases, parse URLs, and hash text - the developer scratchpad you keep open all day, kept entirely on your Mac.
Clipboard history, window snapping, a keyboard launcher, a screen ruler, and a tidier menu bar - the handful of small utilities you would otherwise stack up one by one, in a single app.
Remove backgrounds, run OCR, trace vectors, strip hidden metadata, and read or build QR codes - the jobs you would otherwise paste into some site you do not control, done locally instead.
